Philadelphia Phillies closer Brad Lidge is scheduled to see his first action of the spring tomorrow against a group of minor leaguers from the New York Yankees. If everything goes well after that outing then his Grapefruit League debut would come Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Lidge under went arthroscopic surgery just a few weeks ago on February 25th and has been rehabbing like a mad man to be ready for Opening Day 2008. Barring any setbacks at this point, it looks like Lidge’s goal could be easily attainable. “I don’t want to say it’s by any means smooth sailing [from here],” Lidge said on Monday. “There could be something, but I don’t know what that could be. Right now, [my right knee] feels pretty darn good.”
