Eagles continue shopping Lito

The Philadelphia Eagles continue to shop Pro-Bowl corner Lito Sheppard, but have not yet found a deal to their liking. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a league source has said the Eagles have been receiving offers and most of those include both draft picks and players. The same league source also said something I said only a few days ago, FORGET THE IDEA of Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. “They’re not going to trade him,” the source said, which is also what GM Rod Graves said at the scouting combine.

I can’t blame the Eagles one bit for taking their time in making a deal. Trading Lito is not a necessity, so they can wait till they get an offer that blows their socks off. A combination of high draft picks, or maybe mid-draft picks with solid young players would be a great deal. If they don’t trade him so what, they’ll just have two really good corners, and then Sheldon Brown playing the nickel corner, one great trio there.

In other news, the Eagles are still looking for a wide receiver, and the biggest name on their radar is former Denver Broncos player Javon Walker. The team wanted him in 2006 before the Packers dealt him to Denver.
