Lackey elbow “felt good”

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher John Lackey got back on the mound and threw a 40 pitch bullpen session today. Lackey’s been held back so far this spring due to a nagging sore elbow. Afterwards Lackey said ““Felt good. Everything’s fine, It felt better than it did the last bullpen (throwing session).” This is definitely good news for Angels fans, as they can not go without their ace. Also good for those fantasy owners who have him as their ace.

Lackey believes he should be good to go now with no more setbacks. If that holds his next bullpen session will come on Thursday. And if all goes well then he’ll make his first spring start this Sunday, March 9th. Starting this late will only get him about 4 starts in spring training but for a veteran pitcher like Lackey that shouldn’t be an issue.
