I’d swear with how negotiations have gone between QB Derek Anderson and the Cleveland Browns, I’d think everyone on both sides was a woman. (no offense ladies I’m just joking). But honestly, neither side could make up their mind on what they wanted at least they decided before it wound up being to late.
Anderson signed a 3-year deal worth $26 million, with $14.5 guaranteed. Anderson is just 24, so this should make him a free agent right in his prime. Anderson signed for less years then he wanted but at the same time he did get the Browns to up their offer on the money side. So much for the Browns being prepared for the Brady Quinn era to begin.
Not much more spin to put on how this effects both sides, it seems like every day I was talking about them. But I do now believe this was the best move for the team and Anderson. And if the Browns are able to add Donte Stallworth to the mix this offense can be really explosive. Mix that with all the defensive moves and it could be a special season in the Dog Pound.
