Is Crumpler close to a deal with Seattle?

Is former Atlanta Falcons tight end, Alge Crumpler close to a deal with the Seattle Seahawks? All depends which newspaper report you want to believe. Lets first start with the facts. Crumpler was with his agent, James Williams, in Seattle today. Crumpler did take a physical. The two sides did discuss money and what it would be like for Crumpler to play for the Seahawks.
Thats about the last of the true facts. Lets break down the rumors.
The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports that Crumpler is close to a deal with the Seahawks. “The connection with the people that have left the Falcons is important,” Williams said. “With Coach [Jim] Mora, Mr. [Tim] Ruskell and Patrick Kerney in Seattle, that causes us to be comfortable.” Connectiions? Mora former coach, Ruskell for Atlanta GM, and Kerney former teammate.
The News-Tribune reports that there is no deal in place and not even a firm contract offer on the table. Frank Hughes of the news-tribune.com says that he spoke with Crumpler’s agent about a few things. Those include Crumpler not signing a deal but that they are confident Seattle could make the room underneath the salary cap to sign his client. When asked about Crumpler’s physical, the response was “I don’t want to speak for them, but I think it went fine.”
So really this whole Crumpler situation is still up in the air and no where close to being solved. Just like I said in an earlier post this thing will be fun to watch unfold. Crumpler has already visited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans. He should soon be on his way for a meet and greet with the Buffalo Bills coaching and management staff. I do wonder thou how healthy he is thou with that comment from his agent on the physical status.
