Browns prepared to let Anderson walk.

With the free agency signing period approaching the Cleveland Browns are prepared to let Pro Bowl QB Derek Anderson walk. The team is standing by their 3-year offer and not willing to up the years. General Manager Phil Savage that he’s “ready for the Brady Quinn era” if Anderson doesn’t accept the offer.

If Anderson does indeed hit the free agent market don’t look for the Browns to match any offer he receives either. If he walks the Browns will receive a first and third round draft pick, probably comparable to anything they would of received in a trade. “We can look in the mirror and know we put a strong offer out there,” Savage said.

I agree completely with Savage on this issue. Brady Quinn was drafted to lead this team into the future, and if Anderson doesn’t want to take the deal bye bye they have the man they wanted anyways. If Browns wanted Anderson as the future (even thou none of us expected him to have this kind of season), they wouldn’t of drafted Quinn. So let the Quinn era begin!
