Richards dealt to Stars

Ok guys, I’ll be honest I barely know anything about hockey which would enable me to really post thoughts on specific moves or rumors. Which would be why I’ve barely discussed it so far. I know today was the trade deadline and really should of posted some rumors the past couple days but it’s hard when you’re uninterested in talking about the league. So what I will do thou is give you some of the deals and news, and who knows maybe some fantasy insight.

There were a lot of rumors about where Tampa Bay Lightning center Brad Richards would go today, and where would he waive his no trade clause for. Well a deal has been finalized and he waived the clause to go join the Dallas Stars. In the deal, Dallas receives Richards and goalie Johan Holmqvist, while Tampa gets goalie Mike Smith, center Jeff Halpern, winger Jussi Jokinen and 4th round pick. This move was really a salary dump for Tampa as Richards makes $7.8 million a year and the team has just resigned Dan Boyle to an extension.

I think Richards could have a nice fire in his heart right now after being dealt. And if he’s matched up on the right line in Dallas could have a big late season push.
