According to profootballtalk.com, The Carolina Panthers are close to bringing back Muhsin Muhammad. Muhsin played for the Panthers for 9 seasons before leaving in 2004 to play for the Chicago Bears. Last week, the Bears released Muhammad and the Panthers jumped on the chance to sign him. A League source told PFT, that the deal is worth $1.5 million a year, length of the deal is not known thou.

Muhammad’s best seasons came as a Panther, in his last season 2004, he had over 1400 yards receiving and 16 touchdowns. With the Bears, he never quite became the weapon they expected. I say thats partly because of what he had throwing to him out there in Chicago.

In Carolina, he definitely won’t get his #1 spot back that is Steve Smith’s job. He does have a chance at the #2 receiver position thou, he’ll be competing in camp with Dwayne Jarrett for that role. If he can perform any better then he did in Chicago, the Panthers could have a nice three headed monster there.
