Millwood hurts hammy

Texas Rangers pitcher Kevin Millwood “tweaked” his hamstring near the end of practice today. Rangers manager Ron Washington won’t give a full definition of what he means by tweak but it seems like he isn’t taking it to seriously. Millwood is still scheduled to start Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Personally, I think he’ll miss that game even if the injury isn’t deemed to be serious. If you remember, Millwood did miss almost a month in the 2007 season with a “tweaked” hamstring. So this obviously a problem he’s had issues in the past and at his age will probably continue having. So it might just be best to let him keep throwing on the side for another weak and make sure things are all well. It’s something they just have to do cause this team CAN NOT afford to have Millwood out for any extended period of time.
