According to Ken Rosenthal at Fox Sports, the San Diego Padres are now turning their attention to Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Gabe Gross. The Padres had been trying to get Matt Murton from the Chicago Cubs to play left, but have been unable to get a deal worked out. The Brewers have a log-jam in the outfield and the guy most likely to get moved would be Gabe Gross , hence the Padres now looking at him. Gross could be on the move as he has no more options left.

The Brewers have Ryan Braun and Corey Hart locked into the corner positions. While centerfield will be Mike Cameron (after his 25-game suspension). Tony Gwynn Jr and Gabe Kapler are also back-ups that could play and got considerable time. The team is pretty high on Gwynn so even with option its not likely he gets sent back down to AAA.

Rosenthal doesn’t really say what the Brewers are looking for in a trade. But that the Brew Crew does feel Gross has the potential to put up decent numbers if given a chance to get 400+ at bats. The asking price could be a decent amount as well, as the Cleveland Indians and Oakland Athletics also have interest.
