Free agent Alge Crumpler plans to meet with around 7 teams at next weeks NFL Draft Combine. “My agent was getting so many phone calls that I thought it would easier just to go there and meet with everybody,” Crumpler said by phone from Phoenix, where he has been working out, just before catching a flight to Indy. “I really didn’t want to go to five or six cities around the country.” The teams who look to be still in the hunt are….

  • Buffalo Bills
  • Tampa Bay Buccanneers
  • Detroit Lions
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Seattle Seahawks
  • Tennessee Titans

Looking at that list, who can use his services the most? I’d say Buffalo, Detroit, Seattle and Tennessee. In Green Bay, Alge would be nothing but a back up to Donald Lee. Tampa Bay well they have Alex Smith. So those two teams have solid options, but adding a second option like Crumpler could be big. It’s going to be an interesting scenario to see play out.
