The Atlanta Falcons are looking to continue their rebuilding process by now looking at trades. Just last week, they made numerous big cuts, now today they’re looking at trade options. The target is corner back DeAngelo Hall. Hall is in the final year of his contract, and there hasn’t been much talk of a contract extension between the two sides. Hall is on record saying he wants to stay a Falcon, and the team is definitely interested in keeping him as well. “DeAngelo is a top-notch talent, and we’re still evaluating,” new General Manager Thomas Dimitroff said. “I know coach Smith definitely wants him on the team. He makes this team better.”
So how is there trade talk if the two sides want to stay together? Well the problem is DeAngelo wants a contract extension and if he doesn’t get it he wants a trade. The Falcons, well they’re doing whatever they can to improve this team and it looks like they may want to let him play his final year then talk at the end. I’m quite sure the Falcons would deal Hall in a heartbeat if they could get a late first round draft pick for him.
Hall is still just 24 years old, and a premier corner with 17 interceptions and 2 touchdowns off of in just four full seasons. I’m sure there would be one team willing to give up that much for him. But with him being so young and so good I’m a bit confused to why this is one player the Falcons would let walk away, he’s someone they can build the new defense around.
Falcons fans i’m sure are confused themselves. After seeing all the moves last week, and now talk of trading Hall, you HAVE to be going what is wrong with my team.
